Tale sensore risulta molto utile per accendere una lampada o un faro a led davanti ad un box, all'ingresso di un'abitazione o come semplice allarme per case isolate di campagna o baite.

Utilissimo per risparmiare energia, quando non si ha la necessità di una illuminazione continua.

Il sensore dispone di tre regolazioni:
 - regolazione della luminosità utile per selezionare a quale livello di luminosità ambientale far attivare il sensore
 - regolazione del tempo di attivazione una volta attivato
 - regolazione della sensibilità di rilevamento

La possibilità di regolare anche la luminosità permette al sensore pir di FUNZIONARE ANCHE DI GIORNO: il sensore rileverà tutto ciò che si muove entro il suo campo visivo e attiverà automaticamente un'uscita che può consentire l'accensione di una lampada, l'attivazione del sistema di allarme ecc.
