L'inverter alimenta i carichi con l'energia prodotta dai pannelli fotovoltaici; quando i pannelli fotovoltaici non producono più energia sufficiente, l'inverter attiva l'alimentazione a batterie e quando queste sono scariche, passa all'alimentazione da rete elettrica o da gruppo elettrogeno, il tutto automaticamente e senza necessità di intervento da parte dell'utente.
In caso di black-out, l'inverter consente di disporre di energia elettrica, passando in automatico all'alimentazione a batterie.
