Il parallelatore può essere utilizzato per caricare 2 batterie contemporaneamente, ma separatamente, utilizzando una fonte di alimentazione come un alternatore per auto, un pannello solare, un caricabatterie elettrico, ecc.
La corrente di carica  (max 10A) è distribuita in modo che la batteria più scarica venga caricata con corrente maggiore rispetto a quelle più cariche (nella ricarica viene data priorittà alla batteria più scarica). Questa dispositivo è ideale per camper, barche, ecc., in quanto consente di far funzionare TV, radio, ecc. da una batteria servizi mantenendo la seconda batteria completamente carica per l'avviamento e l'accensione del motore.
